Thought Of The Day And Random Stuff

Housed under entertainment because some of the stuff I have to comment is boardering on the pure comical!

Let me get my thought of the day out of the way first..... Life is like a box of chocolates, you have the good stuff first and leave the cr*p 'til last!

Well, now that pearl of wisdom/anecdote is out of the way, I am wondering where to start, you see I am Lost.... ah-ha!  Lost, I am Lost about Lost!  I am not really, but I thought it sounded funny!Open-mouthed

You see, it seems to be more and more jumping from time to time and at a seemingly relentless pace, one minute you are in the present, the next 30 years ago and then back into the present!  Not only that, but I am not sure if JJ Abrams has taken into account that little thing called time paradox?  Anyways, enough of that, don't want my head to explode.

Having said that, lets do some linkage..... JJ Abrams - Cloverfield - (come on!  You must have guessed?) - Jessica Lucas!  You see, the, in my eyes, prettiest actress around has seemingly gone from one mind-boggingly bad DOA (90210), after 4 episodes I might add, to another possible DOA Melrose Place!  I mean, come on!  I have said it before, I will say it again, why oh why go from what was a Hollywood blockbuster (and a damned good one I would hasten to add) and being one of the shining lights in it to 90210/Melrose Place?  Seriously, why?  She should be building on her fame not going backwards, and for me (although actually for me it would be nice lol), it is a step backwards.  I think she would make a damn fine Bond girl for instance, especially if it involved a beach and bikini..... must stop right there!Open-mouthed

I suppose I will have to reserve judgement, but I did not like MP the first time around, why would I this time?  Oh well, each to there own.

In all seriousness, though, I think she would, but what do I know, it was probably her management anyways, oh well.

Speaking of series', Heroes is still tremendous!  Love it!  And as for Battlestar Galactica, what a brilliant last-ever episode!

They could have killed it, but they made it wonderfully.  Superb.

Anyways, oh well, now my not-very-often-is-it-a-ramble-or-a-moan is over, back to work peeps....

I Did Not See This Coming! - Manchester United 1-4 Liverpool!

How much a week can change attitudes, and indeed circumstances!  From frustration to jubilation to even more frustration on the realisation that we should, even more so now and with all due credit to those teams, have beaten the likes of Hull, Stoke, Everton, West Ham and Fulham!  If only!

Instead of needing to win to stay in the title race, we should have needed the win to cement the title!  Which is what United needed to do, win to cement the title.  Seems they were found lacking, badly!  Did they lose there bottle?  Or, as it seems Fergie tried intimating, was it just a bad day at the office?

I think they lost it!  Bottled it big time!  Not only that, but they met a team which, on the day, can hammer anybody!  Real (a team, who on current domestic form, was the form team of Europe) found that to there detriment midweek, United found it out Saturday.

I have heard Vidic still wakes up in cold sweats at the thought of a rampant Torres chasing him down.... more of that later.  Not only that, but it does not help when your defensive partner disappears so fast you would have thought that a drugs tester had just entered the ground (thanks to the Liverpool Echo for that one, gave me one helluva laugh on Monday, had to get it in somewhere!  It is just as funny as the other one they came out with, a result that was as improbable as Christiano Ronaldo ignoring a mirrorOpen-mouthed).

Apparently, the best team lost though....... erm, yeah okay.

I could agree with that statement IF we had won by 1-0 via a penalty.  As it was, after leading 1-0, Manchester United lost it bigtime, purely because Liverpool ran rampant!  They could not live with Liverpool, simple as that.  Even Lucas had a good game!  (I think he will be quality, given the time, the guy is showing signs and is very young)

How can I start, proper now?  Erm..... I think they lost it... blah, blah, blah... Apparently... blah, blah, blah... I could agree... blah, blah, blah, yep thats it!

From the beginnning!  Well, sat at home I could not stand to watch the build up, the daily ManU/Sky lovefest would be far too much to take, so I just sat there watching other programmes, but as soon as it did start I changed over.  Just in time for kick-off!  First question that went through my mind was "What Liverpool side will show up today?"  Well, they answered, the one that showed against Real!

Then as they kicked off I heard that Arbeloa had been injured during warm up so Carragher had been put to right-back and Hyypia started in the centre with only, apparently, one minutes warning and hence warm-up!

However, things looked good, we looked comfortable, and for the so-called champions at home Man United didn't exacly cause us any great problems, and it was only because of an ill-judged and ill-timed rush of blood by the usually infallible Pepe Reina that Man United went 1-0 up via a spot kick.

At this point, I thought oh-no!  Here we go, a mauling on the cards, only it was, just not entirely what I expected.  Instead of letting our heads go down, we just picked up the pace even more!  Not only that, but Rafa got the tactics spot on as well.

What amazed me more than anything about the period after the penalty was Ronaldo did a Lampard.... disappeared so much so that I thought he must have been substituted!  One of the things that can be levelled against Ronaldo, for all how good he is, put him up against a good defender and use the correct tactic against him he becomes a passenger, some one who seems to not be able to change his game to suit.  He just cannot do it against the better defenders, however, he does slaughter the not so good ones, so these things even themselves out, I suppose.

Now Torres, he is a different proposition!  Instead of disappearing against better defenders, he just seems to become even more determined, its crazy to think he is not fully fit!  Lets put it this way, he made one of the most solid defenders in the Premier League (Vidic) look like he should be back playing Sunday League!

For Torres goal, he (Torres) was so quick that he could afford to give Vidic a sizeable head start, run at him, put the poo up him, nip the ball off him, run through on goal and calmly slot the ball in an inspired moment!  Not only that, he kindly reminded, during his goal celebration, the crowd how many European Cups we have!  Whether that was his intention no one knows, but thats how I interpret it Open-mouthed.

The look of shock on the Man United players was awe-inspiring.  They just lost a lead in a home game!  To there biggest rivals.... oops!

More to the point, the best was best to come (or worst if you are the other side of the fence), as the deceptively fast Gerrard showed Evra a clean pair of heels, only for the stricken Evra to concede a penalty!

Hang on, am I dreaming?  I thought, this cannot be happening!  We had a chance to go ahead after being behind in a match at Old Trafford!?!?

And go in front we did!  A marvellously taken penalty by Stevie G!  Someone else who steps up against the harder teams!  (Thats what sets the likes of Stevie and Fernando apart from the rest)

I have to ask, who kissed the TV back during Stevies celebration?Open-mouthed

At this point, I felt on sooo much of a high it was as if Jessica Lucas had walked into the room!  (I knew I would mention her at some point during this blog! Open-mouthed)

Then it got to half-time, and I knew what was on the cards!  Someone was gonna come flying out of the blocks and attempt to pummel the other team into submission!  Only, this time, the other team was Manchester United and the pummelling was done by us, Liverpool!

It seemed at this point like Sami had rolled back the years and help snuff any sort of approach out with consumate ease.  Carra and Aurelio (who was superb both in attack and defence) must still be wondering how they smuggled Ronaldo on the coach home in there pocket!Open-mouthed

Masche is just immense as well!  And what the heck is Dossena doing scoring AGAIN!?!?!?  Skrtel!  Well, Skrtel, blimey that guy can defend, although quite obviously he wanted to join in the scoring rout as he marauded foward.

Anyways, the second half, ah yes.  Yet again, Vidic and Ferdinand started like they finished the first half, having the pee taken out of them by a half-fit Torres, and completely incapable of handling a Stevie G who seemed to have a personal mission!  And yes, it was a sending off!  Vidic quite clearly rugby tackled Stevie and there was no way that Ferdinand was going to catch him!  At this point I felt a bit more settled, a bit more calm.  Now I thought we could win it, all we had to do was nothing too stupid!  I was not expecting what happened to actually happen.

Now, the only thing I can think off that happened next was everyone, including me and Van Der Sar, expected Stevie to thump it, however, Aurelio stepped up and took a marvellous free-kick, Van Der Sar didn't move!  I didn't move!  The crowd stood there for what seemed an eternity until I realised, "OMG!!!!  Its gone in!" I jumped up I couldn't believe it!  3-1 to the good and Manchester United down to 10-men and they couldn't change anymore personnel as they had only just brought on three attacking subs to try and drag the game back!

I couldn't quite believe my eyes or ears!  I was astounded!  Dumbfounded!  Was this really happening?!?!?  It was like Jessica Lucas had walked in again!

Seriously, this just does not happen!  How?!?!?

With that jubilation calmed down a bit, something else happened, the previously brought on Dossena (who must surely be considered as a replacement striker now if Torres is unfit) scored with such calmness it was amazing!  4-1 to Liverpool!  I could not believe it!  I have never seen a game where Old Trafford had emptied so quickly!

Blimey!  WOW!

I enjoyed it, hope you did!Open-mouthed

Real Suffering! Liverpool 4-0 Real Madrid

Open-mouthedOpen-mouthed See what I did with the punch line?  Maybe I should try my hand at journalism?

Well, well, well!  Who would have thought, hey?  4-0!  And I went to this match!  I was sitting fourth row up of the Lower Centenary stand bang smack on the half-way line!  What an incredible view!

I was almost in touching distance of Stevie G and Fernando "El Nino" Torres.

The game, oh yes, the game, get over the jubilation man and get to the game.  There is not a lot I can say...... well thats a lie and a half!  Knowing where to start is a different matter altogether.Open-mouthed

Ooh, I know the time before the game.  We all left from work around 6 to get to Anfield and get something to eat and neck a few jars (except me, of course, I had Coke.... OI!  Stop sniggering at the back, of course the drinkable stuff!), when we could find a pub which had enough room left for some big blokes to get into.  Which we did, upstairs at one place which seemed more like trying to get into your Aunties house than anything else.

We also managed to get something to eat, from a small take-away outside Anfield itself (not one of the portable ones), I had a jumbo hot-dog (well, I am a growing lad), and chips.  I must say, they where rather nice.  Mind you, at that stage, I don't think I cared, I could have ate a rotting horse on a manky mattress.

I was itching to get into the ground at this point.  It was my mission!  May I just say that the next ar*e-hole who tries to push in front of me gets a smack in the gob!  Some peeps just do not know how to queue on the stairs!  In Anfield there was this bloke trying his best to get in front of me.  Well, fella, I may only be 5 foot 7, but I weigh between 15-16 stone and am solid!  Needless to say he almost ended up at the bottom of the stairs after yours truely did an abrupt halt for no reason and the tit hit my back.  Well he discovered he wasn't gonna try that again after I just glared at him.

Eventually, we got to our seat!  And I was amazed!  You see, at first I thought we where gonna be at the top of the Lower Centenary, but no, fourth row up!  Dead-on the half-way line!  I have never sat in a seat sooo good.Open-mouthed

However, the goodness did not even start at that point!  The best was yet to come!  The kick off.  We flew out the blocks!  And when I say flew, I mean flew!  It was like a whirlwind!  No one, and I mean no one would have withstood the pummeling we dished out in the first 30 minutes, and Real couldn't, and bearing in mind they are, well before last night Open-mouthed, the best team in Europe on current form it was awesome.  Stevie G is getting back to what he does best, to terrify the feck out of the opposing team, and Torres...... oooooh Fernando Torres..... what can be said?  Even having to play through the pain barrier he looks like he is the best striker in Europe, and boy does he work hard in tracking back as well!

The defence where brilliant as well, midfield great, Masche!  WOW, what a player, Alonso getting back to his old self with some pin-point accurate passes!

Raul crawled back where he got out of after the last match, Skrtel's pocket!

The goals!  Well Torres got on the score sheet after terrorising an almost-could-feel-sorry-for-Real-defence after some great work by that-man-who-should-change-his-name-to-Duracell Kuyt (blimey, I get tired just watching him).  The second goal was the penalty, and tbh, it wasn't, not really, but hey, it didn't matter in the end.

The third goal was a thunderous volley by that man Gerrard after a wonderful run and cross by Babel (and wonderful is not a word I have used much for Babel this season, not at all), and the forth was by Dossena!

Real's man-of-the-match was Casillas by a long shot!  He made some tremendous saves to keep the score down!  The stats, though, do not paint the picture, you see, they stat that Real had 15 shots and we had 12!  However, they had 3 or 4 on target and the others where from anything between 25-40 yards out and way off target!  However, of our 12 shots we had 11 on-target!

This is ominous for the United match, all our players coming into form!  Pity we hadn't played like this in the games against the so-called minnow teams of the Premier League!

A mention has to go to our fans, we where brilliant, as per Wink, no prawn sandwiches get eaten at our ground.... *whistles as he walks away*.... and a very special mention must go to the Real Madrid fans.  Well behaved all night and they even started chanting for Liverpool when they realised the game was up.  Fair play my friends, fair play to you!Open-mouthed

On the way home, we stopped off at the pub (I had nothing this time), got a cab and eventually got home for 23:30, but I was so immensely overcome with pride, joy and juvilation that I could not go to bed, I sat on the sofa until 3AM!!!!  And I have been in work since 7:30 this morning!  Do I feel tired?  Do I heck!

Oh, and one very last thing, I am kicking myself, as in the morning I was asked to predict the score and as a laugh I said 4-0!  Should have put  a bet on!Open-mouthed

Well, Well, Well

I am just gonna blog about pure cr*p, ie more of the same Open-mouthed, today as it seems to have been an age since I last did anything on this site, and indeed 23rd of Feb was when I last updated.

So what is new?  Well, nowt much really.

My new job is going really, really well.

Home & Away is still being, well Home & Away, funny as hell because I still have to think how can one place have so many disasters.

Still think Jessica Lucas is one of the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen, even if her choice of films/series can be a bit dodgy (90210?!?!?).

JK Rowling hasn't sued anyone for a while, must be a record for her.  Surely must be getting itchy lawyer finger by now?  (That was a joke BTW, phew!)

Richard Dawkins is still acting like he knows best and if you think different you are a moron....

Liverpool still cannot beat teams we should be beating.

Eastenders is getting a tad funnier (the Massood family are great!).

I have a new PC!  Runs Crysis in Very High very smoothly.....

AMD Athlon Phenom II 940 Black Edition
4GB 1066MHz DDR2 Corsair Dominator RAM
2*500GB Western Digital SATA2 HDD with 32MB Cache
LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD Reader/DVD-RW+- writer combo (SATA)
BFG Nvidia GeForce GTX295 (absolute top of the range mo-fo graphics card)

A fair bit more to blog about, but will do later....

Wonder if anyone will read this?
